At Function360 we offer tailored physiotherapy for those suffering with injury or pain, and for those wanting to prevent injury completely. We work both with injuries suffered by the sedentary all the way through to the professional athlete, and we specialise in injury diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

We at Function360 use an approach to diagnosis and treatment that is different to other practices. We use a combination of manual therapy (hands on) alongside rehabilitation (exercise and corrective movement) to ensure that we do not just mask your symptoms, but we actually CURE the cause of your symptoms too. This will ensure that your injury or pain will not relapse once you return to doing the things you love.

  • Plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation programmes.
sports therapy for prevention and recovery of injury

Our goal isn’t to help you recover from your injury temporarily. We firmly believe in the importance of guiding you through the full process of recovery, to ensure that you will not relapse.

We use a combination of manual therapy with rehabilitation and corrective exercise where needed, to improve movement patterns, achieve muscle balance and prevent relapse. Each movement and/or exercise you carry out will be fully explained to you so that you can apply what you learn to your day to day life, improving performance each and every day, and preventing injury and pain in the future.

Whether you are a runner or not, we recommend that you have your gait analysis carried out in order to identify any movement patterns that may be causing injury or predisposing you to future injury.

Injury is not solely caused my trauma. Simply walking with asymmetry could cause both pain and injury.

Our gait analysis will pick up on your risk of injury, or the cause of you current injury, and provide information that will guide us in optimising your recovery and reducing risk of re-injury.

Gait analysis, London

What your gait analysis could involve:

  • A full and thorough analysis of your standing, walking and/or jogging AND any relevant sport specific movement.
  • Muscle balance testing – why are you weight bearing the way you are, and is there anything that our rehabilitation specialists can help you with?
  • Postural assessment.
  • Discussion of results and a full detailed report of the analysis.
  • Recommendations on what you can do to improve and how WE will help you further.
  • The option for prescription and manufacturing of fully customised and highly durable insoles, if and when necessary. The insoles we have manufactured are of the best quality, and therefore will last up to 10 years.

Myofascial release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Myofascial release technique is applied directly on the body and uses slow and sometimes deep pressure to restore the proper health of the fascia.

myofascial release

Our therapists use Myofascial Release for conditions including:

Low back pain, headaches, neck stiffness, shoulder injuries, arthritic conditions, sports injuries, and many more.

The benefits of using Myofascial Release therapy includes:

Reduction in muscle spasms, improved joint movement, decreased muscle and fascial tension, improved breathing, reduction in chronic recurring injuries and more.

Myofascial release is used to improve the health of the muscles and fascia, improve circulation and restore good posture. It is particularly good for more sedentary individuals suffering with postural pain whether it is desk related or not, or those wanting to prevent postural pain completely. Deep Tissue therapy is one of the specialised soft tissue therapies we offer at Function360.

Our tailored Deep Tissue Therapy provides an outcome-oriented approach to soft tissue therapy that uses a creative integration of different hands on techniques.

This therapy is appropriate for a range of different individuals. Whether the aim is to reduce or eliminate musculo-skeletal pain; increase range of movement; or promote the positive psychological effects of touch, our specialised therapist will tailor the treatment completely to your needs, to ensure you achieve the outcome you are after.

It uses a combination of slow and deep techniques, including table shiatsu, acupressure points, trigger point therapy, and passive/PNF/AIS stretching, which work to enhance and reinforce each other, creating space and supporting the body’s own healing processes. This allows for a truly bespoke treatment as every body responds differently to each technique meaning that the treatment can be refined, and therefore more effective and efficient for the individual.

We use tailored sports massage in combination with physiotherapy and rehabilitation to ensure you are getting an all round approach, to fully recover from your injury.

Our sports massage method is a little different to the typical sports massage one usually expects. Our experienced massage therapists are trained to tailor their treatments to meet the specific needs of each individual they work with. Rather than battering and bruising the muscles using a ‘one pressure fits all’ approach, we use a tailored approach using a deep but controlled pressure, that promotes a more long term benefit.

Whether you are in pain or you just need to relax, whether you feel you need a good stretch or you just want to nod off after a long day, our massage therapists are highly qualified and experienced and they are exceptional at targeting your specific needs.

Tailored sports massage is not only used for injury recovery, but also injury prevention, both for the sedentary individual, through to the professional athlete.

A discussion of your needs prior to starting the treatment will aid your therapist to establish what your goals from the treatment are. Your therapist will then assess your needs and physically examine you in order to identify which techniques best suit your needs.

Conditions that generally respond well to massage as a complementary therapy include:

Muscle pain and stiffness, muscle strain, edema (swelling), muscle soreness from exercise and/or injury, muscle sprains, muscle tension, sore spots, repetitive strain injuries, tendinitis, stress, stress induced headache and more.

sports massage

You don’t need to be injured or in pain to benefit from a sports massage. Many of our clients visit our massage therapists for maintenance sessions, rather than waiting for an injury to creep in. Maintenance sports massage is done approximately once a week as a regular part of ones routine. Regular massage increases the flow of blood and nutrients to the muscles, keeping the tissues loose and helping to reduce the development of scar tissue, injury and pain. It helps to optimise muscle health, improving posture, muscle function and daily performance.

The goal of all sports massage is to maximise performance, whether at work or during sports.

Meet our Massage Therapists before booking in to see us. We do advise that you discuss your requirements prior to your session. We understand that everybody has different goals and expectations when it comes to massage treatments, and we would like to ensure that we meet your needs as best as we can.

A vocal massage targets the ‘singing’ muscles through remedial massage, gentle myofascial work, trigger point therapy and relaxation massage.

We all use our voices on a day-to-day basis without giving any thought whatsoever as to how the sound is produced. There are many muscles that are engaged in this process and just like any other muscles group they too can become tired and strained. These muscle groups reside in the upper body; chest neck, face and head.

Vocal massage is a treatment that relaxes all the muscle groups related to breathing and voice production. It is aimed at relieving tension in the rib cage and diaphragm, whilst also aiding to improve posture and therefore performance.

Vocal massage is not only beneficial for singers, but also for dancers and athletes.
